Northwest River Park
When you make plans to go to Northwest River Park, get ready to rise up to the challenge of a great hike. There are over 7 miles of recreation trails which includes 2 miles of hiking trails as well as a horse trail, too! Specifically, the Otter Point Trail Loop is one of the most popular. This well-maintained trail offers a 2.5 mile round trip trek and features a beautiful view of the Northwest River, with otters visible on occasion.

Chesapeake Arboretum
The Chesapeake Arboretum Loop gets kudos for being a rather simple, relaxing walking/hiking trail. Even though the recreation trail will lead you through the forest, it is still only about 10 minutes away from the commercial district of nearby Greenbriar. The map is clear and the trail is well-blazed so you won't have any problems with your sense of direction.
